All Star and Invitational Event Draws Top Racers

Slot car racers from 14 states will be converging on Route 93 Raceway on March 1-2 for the running of the First All Star & Invitational Retro event, which is shaping up to be one the most unique and exciting events of the year.

The event, which is similar in scope to the NASCAR Nextel Cup All Star race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway every May, will feature drivers who have won a championship in a regional retro series, or a major retro race during their career going head to head against one another in Formula One/Indy and Can-Am competition on Sunday, March 2. Racers who have never captured a series title, or major race win will be eligible to compete in the Invitational race slated for Saturday, March 1.

Individual awards, prizes, and giveaways will be presented to drivers competing on both days. As an added bonus the top-eight drivers in their respective classes from the Saturday Invitational races will be afforded the opportunity to compete in the Sunday All Star portion of the program IE: The top-eight finishers in the Invitational F1/Indy race may participate in the F1/Indy All star race. The top-eight finishers in the Invitational Can-Am race are eligible to participate in the All Star Can-Am contest. Invitational racers who elect to race on Sun. will not be charged an entry fee for participating.


The race will follow all IRRA LLC car specifications, procedures, guidelines and bylaws.

Among the All Star drivers already planning to be in attendance are Jay Kisling (Retro East champion, and winner of major races at the Sano, R4 and Demon Does Dallas), Tom Lauterbach (multi-time Penn-Ohio champion, and winner of races at the R4 and Demon 500), Ron Hershman (the winningest driver in retro racing, with multiple ORS championships and victories in the Sano, R4, Southern Shootout, Music City Shootout and Retro Summit events), Dave Fiedler (IRRL champion and a victor at the Race of Champions, R4 and the Sano), Willy Custer (American Raceways Series champion and a race winner at the Race of Champions), Gary "Hip" Cully (race winner at the Fall Brawl), Terry Watson ( Sano race winner), Dave Simerka (Retro Summit winner), Jeff Lauterbach (Penn-Ohio champion), James Merriman (Retro South champion and Music City Shoot Out winner), Dave Geehring ( Race of Champions winner), Ralph Throrne (Retro South champion and winner at the Sano and Race of Champions) and Gary Clinton (Winner at the the Retropalooza).

Route 93 track owner Debbie Baldwin-Evalsky has assured that everyone will be a winner in the food department as her legendary trackside buffet will be catering to the racers appetites by serving breakfast, lunch and a hot dinner on both days.

Race entry fees will be $20.00 per class on both days, which includes practice and food privileges. The raceway will open at 8:00 AM on race days. Practice will be held from 8:00 - 9:30 AM. Tech will commence at 9:30 for both classes, followed by qualifying, which will be conducted using a laps and sections format.

The raceway will be open for practice on Friday, Feb. 28 from Noon until 10:00 PM. A $10.00 pit and track pass will be charged.

Lamborghini finished 1013 on a high with bigger hopes for 2014


  • All-time high in V12 sales with the record of the
  • Lamborghini Aventador (1,001 deliveries)
  • USA largest single market followed by China

Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. looks back on 2013 as a year with great importance for the brand, the products and the sales.

In the year of our 50th anniversary, Lamborghini has delivered a very satisfying performance, confirming the strength of our product and commercial strategy, said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. Even in its last year of production the Lamborghini Gallardo has shown strong sales, whereas the Aventador has beaten all records of V12 model sales in our history. The USA and China are our biggest single markets, the Middle East and Japan are very strong and Europe is in line with the trend in our market segment.


With 129 dealers serving 46 countries, in 2013 worldwide deliveries to customers have been increased from 2,083 to 2,121 units. This development is out santperforming the trend of the market in the super sports car segment.Lamborghini is a global brand and sales distribution is well balanced among the three regions: EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) 34%, America 36% and Asia Pacific 30%.

Thanks to the Lamborghini Aventador, 2013 has been the most successful year of V12 model sales in the history of Lamborghini. 1,001 units have been delivered to customers (922 in 2012, +9%). Two and a half years after its market introduction the order bank for both, Coupé and Roadster version, still covers the next 12 months.

Although in its last year of production, the Lamborghini Gallardo confirms to be an evergreen super sports car with an excellent performance of 1,120 units sold in 2013 (1,161 in 2012). With a total of 14,022 units the Gallardo is by far the most-built Lamborghini ever.

In 2013 the company continued its path of sustainable development, enlarging its facilities and hiring 100 high qualified professionals in SantAgata Bolognese to sustain both, production demand and new projects, ending up with 1,029 employees by the end of the year.


Early in 2013 Lamborghini introduced the Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster, the ultimate open-air luxury super sports car, while the Gallardo Squadra Corse,presented at the end of the year, celebrated also the end of the Gallardo range with a best-in-class version, able to break many lap time records.

Limited edition one-offs like the Egoista, the Veneno and the Veneno Roadster were presented as an homage to the 50th anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini, alongside special anniversary editions of the Gallardo, the Aventador and the Aventador Roadster.

Celebrations for the 50th anniversary involved customers and fans with many events worldwide and the greatest reunion ever, held in May 2013 in Italy with more than 350 supercars, proving that the Lamborghini global community is stronger than ever.

Honda Launches Motor Sport CB650F and CBR650F


Event EICMA Motorcycle Show 2013, be the event for world motor manufacturers to introduce new products, including Honda, which re-introduces its newest product for sport bike segment namely Honda CB650F and Honda CBR650F.

 
Honda CB650F is a motorsport with naked bike design while for the Honda CBR650F has a full fairing design. Both new bike Honda will be targeting the motorcycle market of Europe and Asia.

For the engine Honda CB650F and CBR650F equipped with engine capacity of 649 cc in-line, DOHC 16 valve paired with a 6 speed transmission, this machine is capable of spewing power up to 87 BHP at 11,000 rpm and maximum torque of 63 Nm at 8000 rpm.

For braking systems on Honda CB650F and CBR650F, the front wheel is equipped with dual disc brakes 320 mm and brake discs measure 240 mm at the rear.
