Cayenne GTS set to celebrate its world premiere at Auto China in Beijing

STUTTGART : April 18, 2012 - Porsche will celebrate the world premiere of its SUV Cayenne GTS and present the new generation of the Boxster for the first time in Asia during Auto China in Beijing. The 2012 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition will open its doors to the public on 27 April 2012 and will run until 2 May 2012.

For Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, China represents the fastest growing market and the second largest after the USA and before the home market Germany. The sports car manufacturer sold more than 24,000 vehicles in China last year, i.e. an increase of 65 per cent compared with 2010 and a new record for the company. Bernhard Maier, Member of the Executive Board Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG, said: “Porsche is therefore the market leader for sports cars in China. From the establishment of our subsidiary in 2008 up to today, we have sold 8,831 sports cars of the 911, Boxster and Cayman models in China. Last year we therefore attained a segment share of 46 per cent.”

The most popular model in 2011 was again the Cayenne with 13,283 units sold. For the second time in succession, more SUVs were supplied to customers in the Middle Kingdom than in any other country in the world. China is also now the world’s largest market for the Panamera and the second largest single market for the mid-engined Boxster and Cayman sports cars.

There are also indications of sustained high demand in the current year: in the first three months of 2012, Porsche delivered 7,121 vehicles to Chinese customers, i.e. an increase of 38.3 per cent compared with the same quarter last year.

In order to cope with this sustained high demand, Porsche will continue to expand its dealer network in 2012. Since the start of this year, three new Porsche Centres have already been opened while one has been extended. The existing dealer net-work will be increased from the current figure of 41 Porsche Centres to a total of around 100 by 2015.

Porsche is also building an exclusive customer testing ground at a legendary location for motorsport enthusiasts: directly adjacent to the Shanghai International Circuit (SIC), the race track which has staged the Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix since 2004, the first Porsche Driving Experience Centre (PDEC) in Asia is being constructed. Covering an area of 100,000 square metres, the site will contain a test track, slalom and off-road courses as well as training rooms for exclusive use by customers and fans of Porsche. After it has been completed (probably in the third quarter of 2013), the Porsche Driving Experience Centre in Shanghai will be the third customer testing ground in the world along with Leipzig and Silverstone (England).

Porsche is also actively involved in social projects in China. Together with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the sports car manufacturer is supporting the education of children and adolescents in the Sichuan, Gansu and Yunnan regions that were affected by earthquakes. Porsche has extended this cooperation by two years to 2014 and increased its financial contribution amounting to 10.2 million Renminbi (RMB) (around €1.2 million) by 5 million RMB. The success of the programme is exceeding all expectations: in a good two years more than 7,500 teachers have been trained and more than 115,000 school students have received better education and teaching materials. This was more than twice as many as expected at the start of the programme.

A look at the exteriors will tell you that nothing much has been changed. DC Design has removed the Nissan logo and replaced it with their own logo. Apart from this, the only addition is the alloy wheels. However, a sneak peek into the interiors will surely leave you astonished.  It is designed in a 2+2 seating format. A lot of optimization controls have been used. The doors, center console and the dashboard get a slight wooden finish.

For the comfort of the rear passenger, the front passenger seat can be reclined forward. The steering carries the DC badge on it. The rear of the drover seat carries a screen for the rear seat passengers. Below that is the space for a tab. Look at the images below and you would know how the new look suits the Sunny. DC hasn’t announced the price yet. But a hint has been given that “comfort rivaling cars 10 times its price”. So we can expect the price to hit stratosphere.

The cover of the latest issue of Auto Express in the UK features one of the first renderings of the next-generation Ford Mondeo, which as we all know will be basically the same as Fords future replacement for the Fusion in the States. If this drawing proves accurate, it looks like the new midsize models will combine a lot of what we see in the 2012 Focus at the front end with a greenhouse and rear stance that actually looks more like the current Taurus.

The Fusion was Fords first model to adopt the automakers now ubiquitous three-bar grille design, but this rendering finally dispenses with that look in favor of something a little more Kinetic. We dont know if the production model will go this way or perhaps use the modified perforated version adopted by the latest Taurus and Explorer.

The new Mondeo and Fusion will probably debut sometime later in 2011 and come to market early in 2012 as a 2013 model. GET MONEY

Should this Trendline in the Dow Matter

A funny thing happened at the end of last year. As the Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied through the holidays, some really long-term trendlines started coming into play. The strength we’ve seen in US Stocks is undeniable. So that’s where the question stems from: Should we care about this trendline in the Dow? Or ignore it?
Today we’re looking at a monthly bar chart of the Dow Jones Industrial Average. By connecting the peaks from the January 2000 highs and October 2007 highs, you can extend that trendline to where we peaked on December 31st:

So should we care? Is that reason enough to sell? Or even to sell short? Do we wait for the 2009 uptrend line to break in order to get more pessimistic?
I don’t have a clear answer to this. So I look at other averages like the Nasdaq100 and Russell2000 and they’re making new all-time highs. So what’s up with the Dow? For the most part, these guys all trade together, and any short-term divergences usually even themselves out over time. So who’s right? Nasdaq and Russell or papa Dow?
Do you guys use trendlines to connect peaks in uptrends, not just the troughs?Personally, I do use trendlines to connect peaks in uptrends. And I take them more seriously than connecting troughs in downtrends. That can be a death sentence depending on the name (i.e $BSC $LEH etc). If something is crashing that bad, you are taking serious overnight gap risk, and that’s too much for me. Peaks in uptrends are a different story.
So me? Yes I think this trendline matters.

After a specially convened meeting of the Board of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation on Sunday it was announced that Randy Bernard travels from his position as CEO of the IndyCar Series, with immediate effect. In his place, for the time being the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Corporation President and CEO Jeff Belskus act as CEO, the racing series. Bernard the IndyCar Series will be retained as a consultant.

"We are for the tireless efforts of Randy very grateful that he has invested in learning, understanding and growth of the IndyCar Series for the past three racing seasons," said Belskus.
