Yamaha India is working on the 250cc bikes for a long time.Yamaha is one of the key player missing in the 250 cc battle.There are so many Rumours about the Yamaha 250 cc bike in the automobile world.Finally Yamaha has confirmed that they are working on a 250cc bike and will be launched in 2014.Now Yamaha is focusing on scooter segment.Over the past few years Scooter segment in India has shown big growth.Yamaha launched their first scooter Yamaha Ray last month.
Yamaha Motor, managing director and chief executive officer, Hiroyuki Suzuki said that “We will focus on the scooters category for next two years, but in 2014 we will launch powerful sporty 250cc bike in the Indian market. There is a good market for this premium segment which we would like to tap”.Premium segment in India also shown a big growth in the last couple of years.With more brand introducing more premium products the fight will go on and on.
Yamaha hasn’t given any information about the 250cc.We can expect either a Fazer 250 or an all new R250 which is based on R15.There are also news about FZ 250.Yamaha 250 cc model will be first showcased in 2014 Auto Expo.Then Yamaha will start selling the new bike around the middle of 2014.Yamaha is also working on a 125 cc bike.Which will be launched in 2015.In the next two years Yamaha will launch updates for the current models also in the next 2 years.
