Hyundai India unveiled the Grand i10 today in India. Already there were speculations about the i10 based sedan and finally the officials have confirmed the i10 based sedan. New Hyundai i10 sedan is developed on the BA platform which already underpins the Grand i10. The new i10 sedan is a sub 4 meter compact Sedan.
Now Hyundai doesn’t have a player in the compact sedan segment which is one of the hottest segment in India. Hyundai has already discontinued the Accent sedan in India and the i10 sedan will occupy the Accent place in our market. Like the Amaze and Dzire we can expect the i10 sedan Design to share with the Grand i10 as it will decrease the development cost for Hyundai.
We can expect the interiors to be upmarket like the Grand i10 and the long list of features will continue in the i10 sedan also. Hyundai i10 sedan will share the engines with grand i10 considering the Excise duty benefits for Hyundai. New 1.1 L CRDI engine and the 1.2 L Kappa engine will power the i10 sedan. Hyundai will launch the i10 Sedan in April next year.
